Maldives is a state party to the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW). It has not participated in any CCW meetings on autonomous weapons systems to date.
Maldives is a member of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which supports the negotiation of a legally binding instrument on autonomous weapons systems. Maldives has not spoken independently on the need for a legally binding instrument.
